Mark Nielsen has run many successful high tech companies and knows how to achieve an objective quickly, efficiently, and with fiscal responsibility.  As a fellow San Juan Capistrano resident, he shares our major concerns and will provide strong and fiscally conservative leadership to:

Resolve the growing traffic problems

Preserve our precious open space

Create a pedestrian-friendly, vibrant downtown

A vote for Mark Nielsen is a vote to preserve San Juan’s charm!

Mark's Ballot Statement

We need to stop shortsighted development that detracts from our town’s character. It’s time for a change!

As President of various software companies, I’ve improved the local economy. I’ve saved numerous jobs in businesses which I’ve successfully turned around. I’ll bring that same leadership, experience and fiscal conservatism to improving the efficiencies of our city.

As co-founder of Citizens Against Uncontrolled San Juan Expansion, I’m committed to preserving the rural, equestrian and historical character of our community. I’ve acted to:

  • Decrease Traffic
  • Reduce Development
  • Revitalize Downtown
  • Preserve Open Space

I oppose converting open space into high density housing and have led referendums to save our open space. We can improve traffic without destroying the flavor of our historic downtown.

As the son of a police officer, I’ll work with the Sheriff to keep our community safe, improve response times and support his plan to identify illegal aliens in county jail.

I’m a referee for AYSO and write a column for our local newspaper.

We chose to live here because of our community’s uniqueness. I’ll fight to maintain the quality of life that originally brought us all to San Juan Capistrano. I’ll listen and put our citizens ahead of outside special interests.
