Preserving Our Rural, Small Village Character
Mark Nielsen will stand up to the developers and make the right decisions for San Juan Capistrano and its residents. Mark will ensure that we preserve the character of our community with abundant open space by controlling and directing future growth within the City. Since Mark Nielsen does not rely on developers for his livelihood, he will intelligently control growth while planning for appropriate development. He will not allow developers to build projects that make us look more like Laguna Niguel or Irvine, and will insist on development that enhances San Juan’s unique character, instead of destroying it.
In addition, Mark Nielsen will balance the need for economic growth with the protection of our major ridgelines and other prominent hillside features to maintain the open space character of the community, as well as preserve natural resource areas to allow for their long term preservation.
Mark Nielsen will support the desires of San Juan Capistrano’s citizens to keep our city “the jewel of South County” by preserving the rural, small village character that drew so many of us here in the first place.
As your City Council representative, Mark Nielsen will take actions that reflect the desires of our city’s residents, and he will refuse to give in to the pressures of developers and their lawyers who have already shown their lack of concern for our community by suing the city anytime they don’t get their way.
